“Thursdays in Black” is an international campaign of advocacy and solidarity
against all forms of sexual and genderbased violence.

Thursdays in Black

Gender-based violence crimes within families, communities and societies in South Africa have been increasing at an alarming rate and are five times higher than the global average.

The statistics are grim, with one in two women predicted to experience some form of violence within their lifetimes. Staff of Badisa Tygerberg continues to support the Thursdays in Black campaign by wearing black as a symbol of strength and courage, representing our solidarity with victims and survivors of violence, and calling for a world without rape and violence.

Support the movement by purchasing a Thursdays in Black Pin at our offices for only R10 each.

How can you get involved?
