The office renders the full spectrum of child protection – from awareness, early intervention services, statutory services and family reunification services. During 2015-2016 the office rendered services to 488 children exposed to physical, emotional and sexual abuse to the severest forms.
Social services to children and families in need of care and protection include counselling re social problems i.e.
- Drug and alcohol abuse among children
- Family violence
- Care and contact of children of unmarried parents that are seperated
- Provision of food & clothing in conjunction with social work intervention
- Sexual abuse of children • Street, abandoned and orphaned children
- Child neglect
- Teenage pregnancies
- Abused woman
